FLUSHING, N.Y. — D'Youville University women's tennis was defeated 4-0 by No. 1 Queens College (16-4) on Saturday at the QC Indoor Tennis Bubble in the 2026 ECC Women's Tennis Championship match.
D'Youville University dropped the doubles point to the opponent after falling in all three matches.
Munisa Ashurbekova and
Nele Herbst were defeated 3-6 at No. 1 doubles. A similar outcome occurred at No. 3 doubles, where
Maria Campisi and
Yelizaveta Prokopenko fell 1-6. The No. 2 doubles match, featuring
Erika Ismailova and
Mina Randjelovic, also ended with a 2-6 loss.
In singles play, Ashurbekova began with a promising start at No. 1 singles, leading 4-3 before the match was marked unfinished. Herbst was unable to overcome her opponent at No. 2 singles, concluding her match 2-6, 2-6. At No. 6 singles, Prokopenko faced a straight-sets defeat, 0-6, 0-6.
Randjelovic's match at No. 3 singles ended with a 1-6, 0-6 result, while Campisi recorded a similar straight-set loss, 0-6, 1-6, at No. 5 singles. Ismailova's match at No. 4 singles was also left unfinished with her leading 6-5 when play was halted. D'Youville University ultimately fell short with a final dual score of 0-4.
Ashurbekova finished with a tie at No. 1 singles and contributed to a draw at No. 1 doubles with Herbst. Ismailova recorded a tie at No. 4 singles and was part of a losing effort at No. 2 doubles with Randjelovic. Campisi posted a loss at No. 5 singles and also fell short in her No. 3 doubles match with Prokopenko.
