Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The D'Youville tennis team returned to action on Saturday, opening East Coast Conference with a 5-2 loss at Molloy. The setback drops the Saints to 3-1 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
Junior Allison Meissner and sophomore Taylor-Anne Austin picked up the lone singles victories for D'Youville. Meissner, who won her match 1-6, 6-3, 6-2 improves to 3-1 in singles play this season. Austin won her first singles dual of the season via retirement (2-6, 6-0, 2-2), improving her mark to 1-3.
Other singles results included freshman Yulia Kashtelian (3-2) falling 6-2, 6-3, freshman Camilia Duteil (2-1) dropping her dual 6-3, 6-4, freshman Taylor Nash (3-2) losing 6-1, 6-1, and freshman Katelyn Hoover (2-2) falling 6-1, 6-1.
The Saints came up empty-handed in doubles play Saturday with the Lions taking all three duals.
The Saints will get a chance to rebound in non-conference action tomorrow morning at Post with play getting underway at 10 a.m.
