WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - The D'Youville women's tennis team returned to East Coast Conference action, falling 7-0 to St. Thomas Aquinas at the Village Glen Tennis Center Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the Saints fall to 3-5 on the season and 0-3 in league play.
Freshman Yuliia Kashtelian put up the best performance for D'Youville, despite dropping her match 6-3, 6-4. Fellow freshman Camilla Duteil fought hard to save her singles match in the second set but ultimately lost 6-0, 6-4. Other singles results from Sunday's match include freshman Taylor Nash falling 6-2, 6-0, junior Alisson Meissner losing 6-0, 6-0, and sophomore Taylor-Anne Austin dropping her match 6-0, 6-0. The Saints defaulted the #6 singles match as well.
The freshman pair of Kashtelian and Duteil also put up a good fight in their doubles match but could not come away with the win, falling 6-4. The other doubles match featured Meissner and Austin losing 6-0, while the Saints defaulted the #3 doubles match.
D'Youville returns to action on Friday, October 15, in non-conference play at Edinboro, with play set to get underway at 7 p.m.
