Meadville, PA – The D'Youville women's volleyball team lost a pair of matches on Friday evening, first falling to the Alleghany Gators 3-1 and then to the Mount Union Raiders 3-0.

In the first match of the day against Allegheny, the Spartans had a strong showing in the first set and won 25-22. However, the Gators would come back to take each of the next three sets 25-18, 25-20, 25-20 and took the match 3-1.

Alexandria McBride (Elma, NY/Iroquois) had a career match, recording a career high nine kills and a career high 19 digs – both which led the team. Talia Wright (Derby, NY/Lake Shore) added eight kills, 16 digs, and two service aces in the match, while Desiree Walters (Oswego, IL/Oswego) tallied 18 digs.

Angela Filkov (North Collins, NY/North Collins) recorded a team high 30 assists with Jasmine Filkov (North Collins, NY/North Collins) tallying 10 digs. Carly Milleville (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) contributed seven kills while Lauren Conley (Scotia, NY/Scotia-Glenville) added five.

D'Youville faced off against Mount Union in the second match of the day. They were defeated by the Raiders in three sets 25-9, 25-14, 25-7.

Three players tied with two kills against Mount Union while four players had five digs and one had seven.

The next pair of matches for the women come on Saturday at Penn State-Behrend when they play Wooster at 11:00am and Westminster at 1:15pm.
