Steubenville, OH- The D'Youville women's tennis team faced Franciscan University on Sunday resulting in a 9-0 defeat for the Spartans.  

Gillian Wittig (Depew, NY/Depew) and Lauren Karoglan (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) put up a good fight in their doubles match but could not pull out the win, losing 8-4.  

All the Spartans put in a battle in both the singles and doubles matches.  Dena Iadanza (Vestal, NY/Vestal), Alisson Meissner (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg), Amanda Waliszewski (Sanborn, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) competed in both singles and doubles, while Lexi Dickson (Hamilton, Ont./Frontier) helped in singles and Bryannia Sutton (Mexico, NY/Mexico) joined Meissner in doubles.  

The team returns to action on Friday, October 5 to play in their final regular season match at Medaille at 3:00pm.
