Williamsville, NY – The D'Youville women's tennis team won their second straight match on Friday evening, defeating the La Roche Redhawks by the final score of 5-4.

The women swept the doubles matches against La Roche with wins of 8-0, 8-4, and 8-4. Lauren Karoglan (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) and Gillian Wittig (Depew, NY/Depew) were the winners of the first doubles match of 8-0 with Dena Iadanza (Vestal, NY/Vestal) and Amanda Waliszewski (Sanborn, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) would then take their second doubles match 8-4. Alisson Meissner (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) and Bryannia Sutton (Mexico, NY/Mexico) would then win the third doubles match by the final score of 8-4.

For the singles portion of the match, Karoglan and Wittig remained on their incredible run this season as they both won their matches 6-0, 6-1. Their single wins as well as the sweep in the doubles matches earned the team a 5-4 victory.

The next match for the women comes tomorrow, September 22 as they host Pitt.-Greensburg at 7:30pm.
