Amherst, NY - The D'Youville women's tennis team suffered a 7-2 loss on Wednesday afternoon to the host Medaille Mavericks.

Dena Iadanza (Vestal, NY/Vestal) won her singles match 7-6, 6-1 in the third singles match as she continued to play well. In the first doubles pairing, Gillian Wittig (Depew, NY/Depew) and Krista Cornell (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East) earned a point for the Spartans by defeating their Maverick opponents 8-6.

Bryannia Sutton (Mexico, NY/Mexico) and Iadanza were strong as the team's second doubles pairing, with Vaughnna Bauer (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore West) playing in the fifth singles match.

The next match for the women comes this Saturday, September 23 at Pitt.-Greensburg. Match time is at 5:30pm.
