The Cardinals scored the game-tying goal with under eight minutes remaining in the game after a quick shot outside the box that went into the side netting of D'Youville's goal. Just under four minutes later, Fisher would take over the lead after a shot from outside the 18-yard box deflected off a D'Youville defender into the back of the goal.
Two late shots from Jason Wilson (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Forks) and Allan Wade (Pendleton, NY/Starpoint) were saved or blocked, keeping the Spartans from tying the game. Fisher would hold off D'Youville in the final seconds to win the game 2-1.
