Houghton, NY - The D'Youville women's tennis team suffered a loss to the Houghton Highlanders on Monday by the final score of 8-1.

Gillian Wittig (Depew, NY/Depew) won her second match of the season, defeating her opponent 6-3, 6-3 in the top singles slot. Krista Cornell (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East) played well in the second singles slot and with Wittig in the top doubles pairing. 

Isabella Madamba (Bitburg, Germany/Bitburg American) came close to a win in her sixth singles slot, but lost with the final scores of 6-3, 2-6, 6-10. Madamba also played in the third doubles pairing.

The women will play their next match against Fredonia State on Thursday, October 1st.
