Huge Crowd Shows Support To Men's Soccer At New Field

Buffalo, NY - September 5th, 2014 - A crowd of over 300 watched as the D'Youville Men's Soccer Team played their first game on their new home field Friday night, falling to Keystone College 3-0.

The Spartan defense, led by junior captain Nick Johnson (North Tonawanda, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) held firm in the first half with strong offensive pressure from Keystone, surrendering only 2 goals. In the second half, the D'Youville offense came out early with heavy pressure, creating several scoring chances in a row.

Freshman defenseman Daniel Tarbell (Clarence, NY/Clarence) also played well for the Spartans, making key tackles and adding to the offensive game by making several long runs. Tarbell's defensive game also stood out for the team throughout the game.

As a team, the men had 7 shots and 2 shots on goal, providing good pressure throughout the game.

All of the parents, students and fans created a great atmosphere for the second game in as many days.

The men's team has a quick turnaround as the take on Baruch College Saturday, September 6th at 3:00pm on their home field.
