Box Score 2 Williamsville, NY-The reigning AMCC Player and Pitcher of the Week came up big in the opener of today's doubleheader against Medaille College.
Shortstop MacKenzie Kehlenbeck (Oakfield, NY/Oakfield-Alabama) ended game one of today's doubleheader against Medaille with a three-run walk-off homer giving D'Youville a 6-3 win.
Pitcher Kalie McHenry (Amherst, NY/Sweet Home) got the win tossing a complete game four-hitter with six strikeouts. McHenry leads all AMCC pitchers in earned run average (1.17), complete games (17), and strikeouts (113). The sophomore righty is now 11-7 on the season.
Lisa Petty (North Tonawanda, NY/Mount St. Mary Academy) drove in the Spartans' other three runs with a two-run double in the second and an RBI single in the fourth.
Game two saw D'Youville miss opportunities to break the game open and were edged 2-1 by Medaille. The Spartans left the bases loaded in the fourth and sixth innings.
Next up for the D'Youville is the AMCC Tournament. The Spartans' opening game of the double-elimination event is Friday May 2 versus Pitt-Bradford. Approximate start time is 11:30 a.m. and the tournament site is Penn State Behrend in Erie, Pa.
