Greensburg, PA-Game two in the AMCC softball doubleheader between D'Youville and Pitt-Greensburg needed extra frames to decide a winner. In the top of the tenth inning, D'Youville catcher Shannon Evans (Cheektowaga, NY/East Aurora) delivered a two-run single that broke the stalemate and gave the Spartans a 3-1 win and a two-game sweep of the Bobcats.

With D'Youville down 1-0, Evans tied the game in the top of the fifth with an infield grounder.

D'Youville pitcher Kalie McHenry (Amherst, NY/Sweet Home) came on in relief in the fifth inning and threw six shutout innings, allowed just two hits, and fanned 12 Pitt-Greensburg batters to get the win.

In the opening game McHenry tossed seven shutout innings, allowed just two hits and struck out seven to lead the Spartans to an 8-0 win.

MacKenzie Kehlenbeck (Oakfield, NY/Oakfield-Alabama) hit a two-run homer, her second-straight game exiting the yard. D'Youville churned out eight runs on just six hits and took advantage of four Pitt-Greensburg errors.

The Spartans' current six-game winning streak is centered around their ace. McHenry has won four- straight games and her last five decisions. In that stretch the right-hander has allowed just one run, currently sports a 19-inning shutout streak, and has lowered her season earned run average to a paltry 0.91.

The Spartans continues their climb up the AMCC standings. D'Youville now sits in fifth place with a league record of 6-4 and have upped their overall record to 9-11.
