West Seneca, NY-In game two of today's non-conference doubleheader against SUNY Canton, D'Youville trailed 8-0 and chipped their way back into the contest. The Spartans had two men on base and the tying run at the plate in their final at-bat but the rally ended and the visitors left with an 8-5 win.

Jeff Turner (Lackawanna, NY/Lackawanna) pitched five solid innings in relief and Matt Veronica (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East)went 3-4 with two RBI.

In the opening game, SUNY Canton broke open a tie game with a six-run fourth inning and a four-run fifth-frame and cruised to a 15-2 win.

D'Youville returns to AMCC play with a home doubleheader tomorrow (Apr. 13) versus Penn State Altoona. First pitch at Veterans Memorial Park is slated for 1:00 p.m.
