Buffalo, NY - The final game of the 2014 season for the D'Youville Women's Volleyball Team was a successful one as the Spartans defeated the Pitt.-Greensburg Bobcats Saturday afternoon by the score of 3-0.

D'Youville played a strong team game all 3 sets, defeating the Bobcats 25-17, 25-19 and 25-18. The team had 42 kills, 41 assists, 49 digs and 9 service aces.

Freshman Kendyll Smith (Petrolia, PA/Karns City) and sophomore Kaylee Stewart (Wilson, NY/Wilson) led the team in kills. Smith totaled a team high 13 kills while Stewart had 10. Freshman Megan Schneider (Lockport, NY/Lockport) had a great all-around day for the Spartans while recording 8 kills and leading the team with 16 digs.

Freshman Megan McCarthy (Eden NY/Eden) also chipped in with 8 of her own kills, while sophomore Savannah Brayton (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) added to her team lead in digs by tallying 13 more Saturday afternoon. Freshman Abby Booth (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) led the team in assists with 32.

Junior Erin Pennington (Lyndora, PA/Butler) played her final game as a D'Youville Spartan after a 3 year career. She earned 1 kill, 4 assists and 5 digs during Saturday's win.

The D'Youville Women's Volleyball Team ends their season with a 9-16 overall record, with an 1-8 conference record.
