Rochester, NY - The Lady Spartan rowers finished ahead of four crews, including hometown crew University of Rochester, as they rowed hard to complete the race format in 6th place in the Women's Open 4+ event. The Head of the Genesee Regatta took place this morning in Rochester, NY under variable weather conditions.
Head Coach John Dorn felt his team performed well in their second outing of the year. "I was very pleased with the effort put forth today by our student athletes. They are continuing to work together as a unit and I look forward to seeing the boat gain speed as the weeks progress."
Today's race format was unique in that each crew must perform a longer Head style race in the morning and then a shorter sprint style race in the afternoon. The combination of those times is what is used to declare your finish position.
