Rochester, NY - The Lady Spartan rowers split two match races with St. John Fisher this morning on the historic Erie Canal in Pittsford, NY. The DYC Varsity 4+ executed a solid performance under pristine rowing conditions to best the St. John Fisher crew with a winning time of 22:12.31.
"I was very pleased with how our four rowed today," said Head Coach John Dorn. "They are continuing to increase their speed and come together as a boat. The level of determination exhibited today by the Varsity 4+ was definitely exciting to watch."
It was a tougher go for the D'Youville Women's 8+ as the two St. John Fisher boats finished ahead.
While it was a challenging race for the Lady Spartan 8+ today, the extended water time and racing experience will certainly benefit the crew as we continue to hone our rowing skills.
The DYC coxswains in both events did a really nice job navigating their crews through a challenging course.
