Buffalo, NY-The first AMCC match of the season at Hilbert College didn't go the way the Spartans would have liked. The host Hawks took the match in four sets.

Hilbert took the first two by the scores of 25-17 and 25-12. D'Youville then rallied to take the third set 25-22.

After a slow start, the Spartans pulled even at 10-10 and had opportunities to pull ahead but the Hawks stood tough and took the deciding set 25-17.

Lara Svensson (Tonawanda, NY/Sweet Home) had a match-high 17 digs.

D'Youville (7-11, 0-1 AMCC) returns to AMCC play Saturday October 5 at 1:00 p.m. when they host Mount Aloysius College in the College Center Gym
