Box Score 2 Hamburg, NY-Women's volleyball remained in the hunt for an AMCC playoff berth after splitting a pair of conference matches played at Hilbert College.
The Spartans dropped the first set to Pitt-Greensburg 25-21 then rebounded to win the next three 25-16, 25-21, 25-21.
Kaylee Stewart (Wilson, NY/Wilson) had a team-high 12 kills. Alyssa Dueringer (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) and Natalie Rieman (West Seneca, NY/Immaculata Academy) were just short of triple-doubles.
Rieman's stat line was 10 kills, 14 assists, and 9 digs. Dueringer went for 9 kills, 29 assists, and 18 digs.
Lara Svensson (Tonawanda, NY/Sweet Home) snared a match-high 25 digs and Kayla Deth (Cheektowaga, NY/Holy Angels Academy) added 23 digs.
In the second match, D'Youville jumped out to an early 12-6 lead but lost the opening set 25-21. From there D'Youville lost the next two 25-17 and 25-14.
Svensson and Deth each had a match-high 11 digs. Stewart was the top Spartan with 7 kills
The Spartans are 9-15 overall and are tied for sixth place in the AMCC standings with a 2-4 league record.
