Williamsville, NY (9/11/10)-The D'Youville College women's tennis team finally got the 2010 season up and running, and did so with a 5-4 win over visiting La Roche College.

The difference in the match was D'Youville taking two of three doubles matches. Samantha Rowen (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East) and Melissa Kanalley (Tonawanda, NY/Cardinal O'Hara) won 8-6 and the team of Bridgette O'Leary (Camden, NY/Camden) and Kristen Smith (Laurens, NY/Laurens) won 8-2.

Rowen, Kanalley, and O'Leary were the D'Youville winners in singles.

The Spartans play Franciscan University Sunday September 12th. Start time at Miller Tennis Center is 1:00 p.m.
