Wexford, PA (10/16/10)-D'Youville finished with five points on day one of the AMCC Tennis Championship, two points behind a three schools tied for second place. The Spartans lost both of their doubles matches and lost their first-round singles matches in fourth and fifth singles.

Kristen Smith (Laurens, NY/Laurens) lost 6-4, 6-2 in fourth singles and Bridgette O'Leary (Camden, NY/Camden) was defeated 6-0, 6-1 in fifth singles.

In doubles, Smith and Lessica Lampka (lancaster, NY/Lancaster) lost 8-4 and O'Leary and Angela Poblocki (Akron, NY/Akron) were stopped 8-1.

Day two will feature Samantha Rowen in first singles, Melissa Kanalley on second singles, Jessica Lampka in third singles, Angela Poblocki in sixth singles, and the #1 seed in the doubles Rowen and Kanalley.

Play begins tomorrow at the Oxford Athletic Club in Wexford, PA at 9:00 a.m.
