Dassy Pawlik is in her fifth year as the head coach of the D'Youville women's tennis program.
Pawlik’s 2019 squad posted a 5-3 mark in the AMCC, the best record during Pawlik’s tenure, and advanced to the AMCC semifinal round. The team also saw one selection to the All-AMCC Second Team in Dena Iadanza.
In 2018, Pawlik led the team to their first postseason appearance since 2011 after a 4-4 conference record. That season also saw Dassy have her first all-conference player, as Gillian Wittig earned an All-AMCC Second Team selection.
A long-standing member of the United States Tennis Association, Pawlik has served as a USTA captain for over 25 years. She has previously been recognized by the Buffalo Niagara Community Tennis Association as Captain of the Year. As a player, she has participated on many teams, advancing to local, regional, and sectional championships. Two of the teams she participated on advanced to national championships.
Aside from being the head women’s tennis coach for the Saints, Dassy works in the Buffalo Public School system as a Culinary Instructor at Emerson School of Hospitality, where she has worked since 2004.
Dassy earned a bachelor's degree in communication from the University at Buffalo. Currently, she is enrolled at Buffalo State College, continuing coursework in her field of career and technician education.
Pawlik resides in Buffalo, N.Y., with her husband Larry, and has three adult children, Alannah, Erin and Will.
