Travis Wright is in his third season as part of the coaching staff for the D'Youville men's volleyball program.
Wright also serves as the diving coach for the Canisius swimming and diving program, overseeing that program's men's and women's divers.
Before he began coaching, Wright had an incredible career as a diver for the Canisius men's swimming and diving team, winning three-straight MAAC Most Outstanding Diver awards.
As a junior in 2016-17, Wright won the one-meter and three-meter diving events at the MAAC Championship, setting the school and championship records for the three-meter board. He also set the school record on the one-meter board earlier in the season and qualified for the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships.
As a sophomore, Wright had another outstanding season, as he earned Canisius Male Athlete of the Year. He became the first Canisius diver to take first in the three-meter and one-meter diving events at the NCAA Zone A Championships after winning both of those events at the 2016 MAAC Championships.
Wright spent his freshman season at Penn State, where he was a NCAA zone qualifer. The Derby, N.Y., native was also an All-American during his time at Lake Shore High School.
Wright received his bachelor's degree in human services from Canisius in 2018.
