Matthew Burke joined the D’Youville Men’s Soccer Coaching staff in the Spring of 2024, bringing with him a solid resume of playing and coaching experience on the soccer pitch.
Burke previously worked with Head Coach, Sean Hallas, at the institution formally known as Medaille University, where he helped the Mavericks achieve an Empire 8 Conference Championship at the Division III level in 2022, helping the team earn a berth to the NCAA tournament. During his time at Medaille as a Assistant, the Mavericks amassed a 25-5-7 record from 2021 to 2022.
A native of Chesterfield, England, Burke’s coaching experience also extends to the Premier Club level where he has been a Volunteer Head Coach of the WNY Flash Soccer Premier 2014 Boys, 2015 Boys, and 2016 Boys team over the past year.
Burke is a graduate of Medaille University in Buffalo, NY, playing all four years with the Mavericks from 2016-2019, and was named captain during the 2018 season. A three-year starter at Medaille, he registered four goals and thirteen assists in 67 games. Burke won the 2017 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference title and earned an NCAA tournament berth, where they faced Otterbein University.
Burke earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management in 2020 from Medaille. Burke received his Master’s degree at Medaille in Business Administration in May 2022.
