Mike Ventresca joined the staff in the Fall of 2023 for his first season with the Saints as a Graduate Assistant Coach. Ventresca graduated in May of 2023 from Georgian Court University, with a Bachelor’s of Arts in History, and a prolific five-year career for the Lions.
Ventresca is no stranger to Western NY as he was born in Buffalo and grew up in the Hamburg area. Ventresca was a two-sport athlete at Frontier High School, competing in both wrestling and lacrosse. Early success in wrestling allowed Ventresca to compete on the Varsity Wrestling team as an 8th grader. Through hard work and dedication playing for multiple travel teams in the WNY region, Ventresca was able to find a home for his college career at the Division II level at Georgian Court University (NJ).
Ventresca was dynamic for the Lions as a midfielder from 2019-2023. He is one of only two players in school history to score 100 goals in a career. Ventresca finished his career at Georgian Court as the all-time leader in goals with 106. At the time of his graduation, Ventresca was ranked third in points all time at GCU. He scored 20+ goals in three straight seasons and was named to the All-CACC Second Team in both 2022 and 2023. Ventresca won a CACC Championship during his time in Lakewood. Coach Ventresca capped off his collegiate playing career by participating in the USILA Senior All-Star Game.
Coach Ventresca will earn his MBA upon graduation from D’Youville in the Spring of 2025.
