D'Youville University

Michael Brooks was welcomed in 2022 as an assistant coach for the D'Youville University men's basketball program.

Brooks comes to D'Youville after serving as a junior varsity head coach and varisty assistant at St. John Fisher College in Pittsford, N.Y. Prior to his time with Cardinals, Brooks was the boys varsity basketball head coach at Barker High School. He took over as the head coach after serving as the head assistant coach for one year. He was brought in to rebuild a struggling program and plan basketball programs for youth.

Before his stint at St. John Fisher, Brooks served as the Director and Head Coach for Rust Belt Basketball AAU for six and a half years. Prior to that, he served in multiple roles for the YMCA Buffalo Niagara including Gym Specialist and Basketball/Hocket Instructor. He was also a Freshman Head Coach for St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute.

Brooks graduated from Canisius College witha  Master's Degree in sport administration in 2022. He also earned his Bachelor's Degree in sport management from Medaille University in 2016.
