ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y.— D'Youville University (20-18, 10-10 ECC) had a mixed day at Bob Klein Field, securing a 5–3 victory over Molloy (16-33, 6-13 ECC) before falling in a close 5–4 contest in extra innings.
In the first game, D'Youville recorded nine hits, including two home runs and three doubles, to clinch the win. Key performances came at critical moments, particularly in the second inning when
Gabby Moreno (San Diego, Calif. / Rancho Beuna Vista) delivered a home run to right field, bringing in two runs after
Mikayla Hussar (West Seneca, N.Y. / West Seneca West) was hit by a pitch, giving D'Youville an early 2–0 lead. Molloy responded in the third inning, tying the game at 2–2 with two runs, including an RBI groundout and a single up the middle.
The Lions took a narrow lead in the fourth inning with an RBI single, pushing ahead 3–2. However, D'Youville equalized in the fifth inning when
Danielle Fenlong (Georgetown, Ontario / Christ the King) walked and scored on an
Annie Jorgenson (Victoria, B.C. / Belmont) sacrifice fly. The game was tied at 3–3.
D'Youville regained control in the sixth inning, with
Jorja Sandilands (Brooklin, Ontario / Brooklin) hitting a home run to left field. Later, Fenlong singled to right center, bringing in another run to put D'Youville ahead 5–3 after six innings. The team held the Lions scoreless in the final inning to secure the victory.

In the sixth inning, D'Youville regained the lead when
Frankie Morris singled through the right side, driving in two runs. However, the Lions countered in their half with three runs, aided by a wild pitch and a throwing error, taking a 4–3 lead. D'Youville tied the game in the seventh when
Jorja Sandilands doubled and was brought home by
Mikayla Hussar's sacrifice fly.
The game proceeded to extra innings, where the Lions secured the win in the bottom of the eighth with a sacrifice fly, scoring the winning run for a final score of 5–4.
Hailee Jenkins (Ontario, Canada / Fenelon Falls) pitched 5 innings for D'Youville, allowing 6 hits and 3 earned runs while issuing 4 walks and striking out 1 batter.
Kendal Lehnen (Sherrill, N.Y. / Vernon Verona Sherrill) relieved Jenkins, pitching 2 1/3 innings, allowing 3 hits and 1 earned run, with 4 walks and 3 strikeouts.
