Saints Drop Both Games On the Road Against Warriors

STROUDSBURG, Pa. — The Saints dropped both games of a doubleheader to East Stroudsburg on Sunday afternoon at Creekview Park, falling 8-0 in the opener and 15-1 in game two.

East Stroudsburg used a first-inning solo home run to grab the early advantage and added four runs in the second inning to build a 5-0 lead. The Warriors continued to apply pressure with runs in the third and fourth innings, capitalizing on a pair of defensive miscues in the fifth to extend the lead to eight.

The Dawgs offense was held to two hits in the contest. Colby Wilson accounted for one of the Saints' hits with a fifth-inning single, while Anthony Consiglio added the other in his lone plate appearance.

On the mound, Eric Osterstrom made the start for the Saints, striking out two over two innings of work. Greg Orcutt and Sean Glinski each recorded a strikeout in relief appearances. Deryk Kulp closed out the game with two innings on the mound, allowing one run while working through traffic and striking out one.

The Warriors again jumped out to another early lead in game two, plating nine runs in the first two frames. East Stroudsburg continued to build its lead with three runs in the third and two in the fourth before the Saints broke through offensively in the sixth inning.

Jake Ferris reached base after being hit by a pitch and later came around to score D'Youville's lone run of the game on a groundout from Blaise Kolbert.

Kolbert led the Saints at the plate in the finale with two hits and an RBI, accounting for both of D'Youville's hits in the game. Dylan Mercado also reached base and swiped a bag, while Ferris added a stolen base to go along with his run scored.

On the mound, Matt Bradley made the start and Ethan Goodband worked two innings in relief. Evan Froelich added two-thirds of an inning, with Carson Mazur finishing the game. Kolbert also contributed on the mound, tossing two innings and allowing one run while striking out two.

D'Youville looks ahead to Dobbs Ferry, N.Y where the Saints will take on Mercy University in their first ECC action of the year on Friday, March 13th.
