GLENVILLE, W.Va. — D'Youville (2-1) finished the final day at the Sue Morris Sports Complex during The Glenville State Tournament in a split, securing a 7-5 victory over Gannon University but falling 10-0 to Glenville State on Friday afternoon.
In the first game against Gannon, D'Youville's offense was bolstered by three home runs, contributing to a strong 14-hit performance. The game started positively for D'Youville, with
Summer Clark (Williamsvill, N.Y. / Williamsville East) homering to left center in the first inning, giving them an early lead of 1-0. In the second inning,
Gabby Moreno (San Diego, Calif. / Rancho Buena Vsita) doubled down the right field line, allowing
Danielle Fenlong (Georgetown, Ontario / Christ the King SS) to score from first base, extending the lead to 2-0.
However, Gannon leveled the score at 3-3 by the third inning, thanks to a two-run homer and a solo homer. D'Youville fought back as
Annie Jorgenson (Victoria, B.C. / Belmont SS) singled down the right field line to drive in a run, but Gannon responded with another run in the fourth inning to take a 4-3 lead.
The sixth inning saw D'Youville regain the advantage when Clark hit her second home run of the game, and
Isabella Mancino (Wynantskill, N.Y. / Averill Park) singled up the middle to score
Jorja Sandilands (Brooklin, Ontario / Brooklin), putting D'Youville ahead 5-4. In the seventh,
Mikayla Hussar (West Seneca, N.Y. / West Seneca West), pinch-hitting for D'Youville, homered to center field, and Jorgenson added another RBI with a single to left field, extending the lead to 7-4. Gannon managed to score once more in the bottom of the seventh, but D'Youville secured the win with a final score of 7-5.

In contrast, D'Youville faced a tough challenge in their second game against Glenville State, who pitched a complete-game shutout, limiting D'Youville to just three hits over six innings. The Pioneers took the lead in the third inning with a double down the left field line that brought in two runs, making it 2-0.
Glenville State extended their lead in the fourth inning, scoring four more runs with a single down the left field line that drove in two runs, along with additional runs from a sacrifice fly and a fly out, bringing the score to 6-0. The Pioneers widened the margin in the sixth inning with another four runs, culminating in a final score of 10-0.
D'Youville's offense was held scoreless throughout the game, with
Isabella Mancino hitting a single in the third inning and late-game hits from
