BUFFALO, N.Y. — The D'Youville Saints women's tennis team delivered a dominant performance, earning a decisive victory over West Liberty University by winning all six singles matches and two of three doubles contests.
D'Youville set the tone early in doubles play. The No. 1 pairing of Munisa Ashurbekova and Nele Herbst cruised to a 6–0 victory, while Erika Ismailova and Miranda Bosch followed with a commanding 6–2 win at No. 2 doubles to secure the doubles point.
The Saints carried that momentum into singles action, sweeping the top five positions. Ashurbekova earned a straight-sets win at No. 1 singles (6–4, 6–4), while Herbst was equally dominant at No. 2 with a 6–2, 6–2 result. Ismailova dropped just two games in a 6–1, 6–1 victory at No. 3, and Mina Randjelovic added a 6–3, 6–2 win at No. 4. Bosch rounded out the singles sweep with a 6–3, 6–2 decision at No. 5. At No. 6 singles, Maria Victoria Campisi closed the match with a hard-fought win, rallying from down 0–5 in the first set to secure a 7–5, 6–2 result.
The Saints will return to action next with a road matchup in Vestal, N.Y. as they'll take on Binghamton University.
