BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The D'Youville University women's indoor track and field team posted several strong performances on Saturday at the Brockport Invitational, highlighted by a win on the track and solid results across sprints, distance, and field events.
Lilianna Peters delivered the top performance of the meet for the Saints, capturing first place in the 5,000-meter run with a winning time of 18:57.50. In the 3,000 meters, Lily Schulz added a strong ninth-place finish, crossing the line in 11:34.44.
The Saints also shined in the sprints, led by Neveah Granderson-Florence, who won the women's 60-meter dash finals with a time of 7.98 seconds after advancing through prelims. Jenna Capolupo also qualified for the finals and later placed fourth in the long jump with a mark of 5.37 meters.
Middle-distance efforts were paced by Sokhna Diagne, who finished eighth in the 800 meters in 2:31.03, while Sienna Uebelhoer led DYU in the mile run with a time of 5:47.69. Andrea Marquina, Cecilia Cowen, and Barbara Kunz also competed in both events for the Saints.
In the field, Rylie Biamonte recorded a fourth-place finish in the high jump with a clearance of 1.48 meters. Nicole Lewis added a 9.76-meter effort in the triple jump, while DYU throwers gained valuable experience, led by Morgan Heise in the weight throw and Tayden Persons in the shot put.
The Saints continue their indoor season on January 24th at the Highlander Invitational in Houghton, N.Y.
