Saints Suffer Tough Loss to #14/19 Molloy University

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – The D'Youville Men's Lacrosse team suffered a 24-4 loss to a tough #14/19 Molloy University on the road on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions got out to a fast start jumping ahead 10-0, but it was Nick Sholett (Vestal, N.Y. / Vestal) who scored the first goal of the game with an assist from Obrigh Tallchief (Irving, N.Y. / Lake Shore) to put the Saints on the board. The Lions would net two more before the end of the first quarter and continued to climb as they led 16-1 at halftime.

With the score at 18-1 in the third quarter, Suman Ramlall (Atlanta, Ga. / Grayson) scored the second goal of the game for the Saints with the assist from Luciano Gonzalez (Coquitlam, BC / Centennial Secondary). Jonathan Abbarno (Chargin Falls, OH / Kenston) got his chance next for D'Youville as he scored the man up goal in the fourth quarter with another assist from Tallchief to leave the Saints trailing 21-3.

Molloy's offense continued to thrive as they reached a score of 24-3, but a final DYU goal from Carsyn Kent (Whitby, Ontario / Donald A. Wilson Secondary) in the last thirteen seconds of the play put the score at 24-4 before time ran out.

Obrigh Tallchief recorded three assists in the game while Jonathan Abbarno recorded two caused turnovers along with a goal. Logan Schwartz (Depew, N.Y. / Depew) led the Saints in ground balls with four. William Nichols (Palmyra, N.Y. / Palmyra-Macedon) recorded ten saves in goal while Casey Berns (Webster, N.Y. / Webster Schroeder) recorded six.
