HOUGHTON, N.Y. — D'Youville women's track and field kicked off the 2025-26 indoor season with an impressive slate of performances at the Houghton December Classic on Friday.
Junior
Jenna Capolupo highlighted the event for the Saints with a meet-winning long-jump of 5.65m, hitting the AARTFC standard and topping a competitive field. Capolupo added to her day on the track, placing third in the 60m dash and second in the 200m.
DYU saw multiple athletes step up across sprint events. Sophomore
Gabrielle Tripi turned in a solid day with a 29.22 in the 200m, while freshman
Robin Kratky clocked 29.50 in the same event. Kratky also delivered the Saints top performance in the 400m, claiming 11th place out of 26 runners. Sophomore
Tayden Persons contributed in both sprints and middle distance, including a 1:07.74 mark in the 400m, enough to take 15th in the event.
The Saints fielded two relay squads in the 4x200, with the top team of Persons, Kratky,
Taylor Bond, and Lewis finishing fourth with a time of 1:58.22. Bond also turned in scoring efforts across middle-distance events, including a 16th place finish in the 800m.
In the field, freshman
Jordin Brown placed 16th in the long jump with a 4.25m mark and added a 12th-place finish in the triple jump at 9.42m. Freshmen
Kylee Jones and
Morgan Heise opened their collegiate careers with competitive showings in the throws, with Jones throwing 8.53m in the shot put and 8.38m in the weight throw.
The Saints return to action on January 10th, as they'll travel to Ithaca, N.Y. to compete in the Southern Tier Invite.
