Saints Close Out Weekend with a Loss at IUP

INDIANA, Pa. — The D'Youville University men's basketball team fell to Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a final score of 94-66 on Sunday evening at the Kovalchick Convention & Athletic Complex.

The game commenced with the Saints starting strong, as Justin Moore scored early to tie the game at 2–2. DYU managed to keep pace with IUP through the first half of the half, highlighted by a fast-break three-pointer from Kevin Thompson at 15:55 that briefly put them ahead 10–9. Despite a determined effort, D'Youville encountered challenges with turnovers, committing nine in the half, which allowed the Crimson Hawks to capitalize and gain momentum.

Trayton Trice contributed significantly in the paint with several key layups, but IUP responded with a late surge, including a three-pointer at 00:45 to widen their lead. The Saints concluded the half with a three-pointer from Elisha Warren at the buzzer, trailing 44–33 at the end of the first.

DYU began the second half with a strong effort, highlighted by a Sean Reynolds three-pointer at 18:21 and Trice three-point play at 17:10, cutting into IUP's lead. However, the Crimson Hawks responded with an effective offense, maintaining a double-digit advantage throughout much of the half. Despite Moore's fastbreak dunk at 7:31 and a solid free throw performance by Reynolds late in the half, D'Youville faced challenges with turnovers and IUP's efficient shooting. The half concluded with the Crimson Hawks leading 94–66, marking the end of the game.

Trayton Trice led the team with 19 points, converting 9-of-14 field goal attempts and collecting six rebounds. Moore added 14 points and matched Trice with six rebounds, contributing four offensive boards. Reynolds scored 13 points, hitting two three-pointers and recording two steals. Thompson contributed eight points, connecting on two shots from beyond the arc and securing three defensive rebounds.

The next challenge for the Saints is a home game against Slippery Rock University at Saints Center Gym in Buffalo, New York. The matchup is set for Sunday, Nov. 30 at 1 p.m.
