The home team dominated the shot count with 15 attempts, five on target, while D'Youville's defense held CSI to just five shots. The D'Youville goalkeeper recorded three saves, contributing to a shutout performance.
The first half began with D'Youville demonstrating offensive initiative as
Hanna Dino took an early shot just 14 seconds into the game, although it sailed high. Throughout the first half, D'Youville maintained pressure with multiple attempts, including shots by
Eleonora Cecchini and
Laoise O'Haodha. Despite these efforts, CSI's goalkeeper, Brianna Dore, remained effective, notably saving O'Haodha's attempt in the 20th minute.
On the defensive side,
Alegra Black made crucial saves against CSI's Annika Jurik and Caitlyn Thompson to keep the match level. As the half drew to a close, D'Youville continued to press forward with shots from
