Saints Rebound Strong in Four-Set Win

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — D'Youville defeated Roberts Wesleyan 3-1 on Tuesday at Voller Athletic Center. D'Youville secured the win with set scores of 25-22, 19-25, 25-17, 25-22. D'Youville's attack was led by 61 kills and an impressive 0.240 hitting percentage. The team also contributed 8 service aces. The Redhawks managed to claim the second set, but D'Youville's consistent performance, including 53 digs, sealed the victory.

D'Youville began the first set with a steady performance, overcoming an initial deficit to tie the score at 4-4, thanks to a service ace by Ailanice Rodriquez and a kill by Madeline O'Brien, both facilitated by Alina Bertens Deckart. As the set progressed, the Saints capitalized on Roberts Wesleyan's errors, including a service error and multiple attack errors, allowing them to close the gap and eventually level the score at 14-14 with a service ace from Cameron Ulinski.

After dropping the second set, D'Youville then took control, fueled by key plays from Giselle Ramirez and Gabrielle Dials, each contributing critical kills to push D'Youville ahead. The Saints will return home to the Saints Center Gym next Wednesday, October 23, for their annual Pink Game against crosstown rival Daemen. After falling to the Wildcats earlier this season, D'Youville will look to defend their home court and earn a statement win in front of their home crowd.
