WESTBURY, CT – The D'Youville University women's tennis team took home a gritty 4-3 win in their season opener against Post University on Saturday, avenging a 7-0 loss to Post last season.

In doubles action,
Mina Randjelovic (Paracin, Serbia) and
Kseniya Zhdanok got the win at first doubles by a score of 6-3. The second doubles pairing of
Yuliia Kashtelian (Lviv, Ukraine) and
Maria Campisi (Caracas, Venezuela) clinched the doubles point for the Saints with a 6-4 win.

In singles action, new additions Zhdanok and Randjelovic continued to make an immediate impact for DYU. At first singles, Zhdanok took home a commanding 6-2, 6-2 victory. Randjelovic put on a clinical display at second singles with a 6-2, 6-1 win. At third singles, after dropping the first set 3-6, the senior Kashtelian fought back to win the second set 7-6 and force a deciding third-set tiebreaker. Kashtelian gutted out a 10-5 win in the tiebreaker to clinch the match for the Saints.

D'Youville will be back home for their next match, as they host the University of the District of Columbia at 11:00 a.m. on September 21
