SHIPPENSBURG, PA – The D'Youville University women's tennis team came up just short against Shippensburg University on Saturday, falling to the Raiders by a score of 4-3.

DYU got off to a hot start, as their first doubles pairing of
Mina Randjelovic (Paracin, Serbia) and
Yuliia Kashtelian (Lviv, Ukraine) turned in a dominant performance, winning 6-0. At second doubles,
Maria Campisi (Caracas, Venezuela) and
Paola Ermina (San Sebastian, Spain) gutted out a 7-6 win to claim the doubles point for the Saints.

In singles action, Randjelovic and Kashtelian continued to dominate, with Randjelovic winning 6-1, 6-0 at first singles and Kashtelian winning 6-0, 6-1 at second singles to bring DYU within one point of victory. At third singles, Campisi was defeated 6-2, 6-2.
Yelizaveta Prokopenko was defeated 6-3, 6-0 at fifth singles. With the match knotted at 3-3, it came down to Ermina at fourth singles. Ermina played two tight sets, but ultimately fell 6-3, 6-4 and Shippensburg claimed the 4-3 victory.

D'Youville will look to bounce back on Sunday, as they travel to East Stroudsburg University to face the Warriors at 12:00 p.m.
