CANTON, Ohio – Making the trip back out to Ohio, the D'Youville University women's soccer team fell to Malone University by a score of 2-0 Tuesday afternoon.
 
The Pioneers got on the board for in the 16th minute of action to take the early 1-0 lead and holding firm until the break.
 
Malone was able to extend their lead in the 65th minute of play to make it 2-0.
 
The Saints (0-4-1) tried to get one back in the 66th minute of play with Laoise O'Haodha (Limerick, Ireland, Gaelcholaiste Luimnigh) having a look but the shot was saved.
 
D'Youville had one last look at a scoring opportunity in the 83rd minute, but the shot by Ella Hurrle (Jordan Station, Ontario/Eden) was off the mark.
 
Haley Pompeo (Eden, N.Y./Eden) went the distance in net, making six saves.
 
The Saints will close out their three-game road trip this Saturday, September 21st, as they travel to Mercy University for the team's East Coast Conference opener at 2:30 p.m.
