DOBBS FERRY, NY – The D'Youville University baseball team's 11-game winning streak came to an end on Sunday as the Saints narrowly fell to Mercy University by a score of 12-11.

After falling behind 11-0 after three innings, DYU began to chip away with six runs in the top of the fourth. The Saints' first two runs came across on an error by the Mavericks' second baseman.
Craig Oliver (Fredericton, New Brunswick) followed with a base hit to bring in the third run of the inning.
Dillon Crook (Liverpool, N.Y.) then legged out a bunt single to drive in another run.
Jake Hollins (Orchard Park, N.Y.) then shot a base hit the other way to drive in two and make it 11-6.

Mike Pasquarella (Hamburg, N.Y.) was able to provide some much-needed relief out of the bullpen for DYU, working around three walks to throw two scoreless innings without allowing a hit.
Austin Delgado also gave the Saints two solid innings, allowing one run on three hits.

After Mercy tacked on a run in the bottom of the seventh, the Saints responded with two runs in the top of the eighth. A leadoff single from
Ethan Hammond (Oakville, Ontario) set up an RBI triple from Oliver.
Alex Dzimian (Lakeview, N.Y.) made it 12-8 with an RBI groundout.

In the top of the ninth,
Billy Morris (Lancaster, N.Y.) led off with a single and
Alec Boucher (Essex, Ontario) singled with one out to put runners on the corners.
Hunter Nowak (Hamburg, N.Y.) reached on a fielder's choice which brought in Morris to make it 12-9. Down to their final out, Hammond clubbed a two-run homer to right field to draw DYU within one. However, Mercy was able to close out the game on the next batter and secure the 12-11 victory.

D'Youville finishes the regular season with a program-record 29 wins and an 18-6 record in the ECC, earning them the one seed in the ECC Tournament. They will face four-seed St. Thomas Aquinas College on Thursday.
