ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The D'Youville University Saints Men's Volleyball (9-6, 1-5) began their road trip with a 3-0 sweep over Roberts Wesleyan on Tuesday afternoon.

Set One
The Saints started out on top, but the set quickly tied at four. D'Youville went on a six-point run to extend the lead to 10-4 following kills from Tymek Brzoza (Tychy, Poland), Jacob Malak (Wales, Wisc. / Kettle Moraine) and two service aces from Shaun Vattakuzhiyil (Sugar Land, TX / Elkins).

The Saints continued to climb reaching a 20-11 lead following a kill from Ian De Wilde (Lockport, N.Y. / Starpoint). Brzoza and De Wilde each recorded two more kills to give the Saints the 25-16 win in set one.

Set Two
The second set went back and forth with the Redhawks taking the 12-10 lead. The Saints fought back going on another six-point run to take the 16-12 lead. Haven Wankerl (Cross Plains, Wisc. / Middleton) recorded two service aces in the run while Ethan Robinson (Toronto, Canada) and Tymek Brzoza each earned a kill.
From there, the Saints took off expanding their lead and a final serving ace from Ian De Wilde gave the Saints the 25-17 win in set two.

Set Three
The Redhawks took the lead first in set three, but a service ace from Kristian Smith (Zebulon, NC / Franklin Academy) tied the set at five. The Redhawks retook the  lead, but again the Saints climbed their way back following kills from Jacob Malak and Randy Adorno (Bayamon, Puerto Rico / Winter Park). As match play continued the lead went back and forth until a kill from Brzoza tied the game at 24. An error by the Reshawks put the Saints up by one, but the Redhawks again retied at 25. A kill from Brzoza and a Redhawk error gave the Saints their two point lead to win the third set 27-25 and the match 3-0.

Saints Stats
Tymek Brzoza led the Saints with nine kills on offense while Kristian Smith recorded 17 assists and Randy Adorno recorded 15. Ian De Wilde led defensively with six digs. The Saints recorded nine aces in the games along with 37 assists, 40 kills, and 25 digs.

The D'Youville Men's Volleyball team heads to Wilberforce, Ohio on Saturday, March 16th for a tri-match hosted by Central State University. The Saints will faceoff against Lincoln Memorial university at 11:00 AM and Central State University at 1:00 PM.
