BUFFALO, N.Y. – Getting back into conference action, the D'Youville University women's soccer team fell to Molloy University by a score of 3-0 Saturday afternoon.
 
The Saints (0-8-2, 0-4-0 ECC) shot opportunities were limited in the action as Jeslyn-Brooke Vallesteros (Aiea, Hawaii/Moanalua) and Ella Hurrle (Jordan Station, Ontario/Eden) had two shots apiece.
 
The Lions got on the board in the eighth minute of play to take the early 1-0 lead. Vallesteros had D'Youville's first look in the 28th minute but the shot went right of the goal. Hurrle had a good look in the 41st minute of play to knot things up going into the break but the ball just cleared the crossbar as Molloy took the 1-0 lead into the break.
 
DYU came out of the break still looking to tie things up and almost happened with a shot from Hurrle in the 64th minute but did not fall. Molloy scored a pair of goals with just under 20 minutes of action to take a 3-0 lead. DYU tried to get one on the board in the 90th minute but Vallesteros' shot just went right of the mark.
 
Haley Pompeo (Eden, N.Y./Eden) went the distance in net, making five saves on the day.
 
The Saints will be off until next Saturday when they travel downstate to take on the College of Staten Island for an 11 a.m. match.
