BUFFALO, N.Y. – In the midst of their four game homestand, the D'Youville University men's basketball team fell to Molloy Sunday afternoon by a score of 95-80.

Nasir Hammonds (Norfolk, Va.) led the team on the glass, grabbing seven boards.

DYU jumped out to an early 4-1 lead in the early minutes of the game with Trice and Jenkins getting back-to-back buckets. The Lions answered, scoring six unanswered to take the 7-4 lead. The Saints were able to draw even at 13-13 thanks in part to Mason Putnam (Prattsburgh, N.Y.) knocking down a three-pointer and Hutchins making the first of two free throws.

The Lions were able to regain the lead, but DYU kept the game within two possessions for the next three minutes of action before Molloy got up 26-19 after a three from Billy Reyes. DYU was able to cut it back down to a two-point deficit as Hammonds cashed in a three ball and followed that up with a layup to make it 26-24 with 7:27 left until regulation.

Molloy quickly got the momentum back, getting a lead by as many as 13 in the late goings of the half. The Saints responded by going on a 5-1 run to end the half, making it a score of 45-41. In the run, Jenkins led the scoring including a three-pointer.
