BUFFALO, N.Y. – In what's the first on a five-game homestand, the D'Youville University played a tough game against Mercy University Saturday afternoon, falling by a score of 3-0.
The Saints (0-5, 0-2 ECC) had an opportunity to get on the board in the early going as
Ethan Robinson (Toronto, Ontario) got off a shot but went just wide to the left. The Mavericks responded, getting a pair of goals on the board in the seventh and 12th minute of the game. Robinson tried to get one back for DYU in the 20th minute, but his shot went wide left yet again.
D'Youville had one last look before halftime to get on the board in the 39th minute, but his shot went left.
In the second half, the Saints had a look on goal as
Aaron Baffour (Anchorage, Alaska) took a shot but was turned away.
Jake Marks (London, England) went the distance in net, making 11 saves on 14 chances. Marks put forth a strong second half, making six saves on all six attempts.
The Saints will continue their homestand as they host California (Pa.) next Wednesday, September 20th, at 1 p.m.
