Box Score 2 ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY – The D'Youville University softball team used a 3-run fifth and 4-run seventh to hand the Molloy University Lions their first East Coast Conference loss of the season Saturday, 7-3 in game one.
Both teams' bats were quiet in game two as the Lions earned the split by shutting out the Saints, 3-0.
Game One: DYU 7, MOL 3
- MOL struck first in the opening frame with a 1-out RBI infield single, MOL 1-0.
- A pair of Saints' errors allowed the Lions to tack on another run, this one unearned, in the fourth to double the lead to 2-0.
- Hannah Bardeen got DYU on the board in fifth with her seventh long ball of the season, this one a 3-run shot, to put the Saints ahead, 3-2.
- After the first two Saints were retired to start the seventh, four 2-out hits, the big blow coming from a Bryanna Dewey pinch hit 2-RBI single padded on insurance runs at 7-2.
- A solo shot got one back for the Lions in the bottom half but Alexis DelFavero came in to get the last two outs as DYU took game one, 7-3.

- Bardeen: 1-3, HR (7), 3 RBIs, 2 R
- Dewey: 1-1, 2B, 2 RBIs
Game Two: MOL 3, DYU 0
- A leadoff double to start the third by MOL got them on the board first as a single and a double later in the inning plated two.
- The Lions tacked on another run in the fourth via a solo shot, 3-0, and that was all the Molloy needed as it won the pitcher's duel (combined seven hits).
