BUFFALO, NY – The D'Youville University softball team scored runs in all but two innings on its way to coming back from down 7-4 to defeat St. Thomas Aquinas College, 9-8, in extra innings.

The Saints trailed by one going into the top of the sixth put a pair of insurance runs was all the STAC ace needed as she went the distance to defeat the Saints 3-1 in game two.

Game One: DYU 9, STAC 8 F/8

• A STAC double helped them plate their first two hitters of the game as they put up a three-spot in the first.
• DYU answered with four in the bottom of the frame as Mikayla Bush's RBI single followed by an Olivia Goderis bases-loaded walk cut the margin to one, 3-2.
• Emily Przybysz and Jamie Bower added RBI singles to give DYU a 4-3 lead after an eventful first inning.
• A Saints' error allowed the Spartans to add two unearned runs in the second, 5-4, before a two-RBI double in the third extended the margin to four at 8-4 STAC.
• Bush's RBI fielder's choice got one back for DYU in the fourth.
• Przybysz crossed home on a throwing error by the catcher in the fifth before Laura Beck came all the way around to score to start the sixth after a single to left was followed by a three-base error, 7-7.
• After STAC stranded a runner on second in the eighth, Adamo began the bottom of the frame with a single which was followed by a Hannah Bardeen walk.
• Beck stepped in next and pushed a bunt through a wide-open gap left by the second basemen as Adamo came around from second to walk it off for DYU 9-8.

Game Two: STAC 3, DYU 1

• A two-out single to left brought home the first run of the game by STAC in the third, 1-0.
• After a single and a two-base error to begin the sixth for STAC, a sacrifice fly to center doubled the margin to 2-0.
• A one-out pinch-hit double by Ava Miller got things started for DYU in the sixth before Goderis' single up the middle cut the deficit in half, 2-1.
• STAC added an insurance run in the seventh as DYU went 1-2-3 in the seventh to end the game.

• Sarah Parzych takes the loss after pitching well: (5-6) 7 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 3 Ks
• Saints mustered just three hits against the Spartans' ace.
