BUFFALO, NY – The D'Youville University softball team finished regular season play versus first-place Molloy University on Saturday afternoon.
D'Youville fell behind 3-0 in the first game before Bower's bases-clearing double to right tied the game at 3-all. The Lions answered quickly with a run in the sixth off a Saints' miscue to prevail 4-3.
The Saints erased an early two-run deficit in game two, but six errors plagued D'Youville as Molloy scored six unearned runs to pull away in the late innings, 10-5.

MOL got on the board first as a leadoff triple down the right field line was followed by a double, Lions 1-0.

Bardeen's two-out double to right short-hopped the wall but the next Saint flew out as the game remained 1-0 MOL after three.

MOL doubled its lead in the fifth with four straight singles on three first pitches, Lions 2-0.

A single through the left side brought home a run but Laura Beck's cannon from left field gunned down the runner trying to score from second, MOL 3-0 after five.

A leadoff single by Olivia Goderis and a Mikayla Bush walk put DYU in business with a runner on first and second to start the bottom of the frame.

After the Lions' pitcher misplayed a Tatiana Boyd sacrifice bunt, Jamie Bower stepped in and ripped a bases-clearing double to right center to knot the game at 3-3.

A booted groundball on a possible double play allowed MOL to get an unearned run back in the top of the sixth, Lions 4-3.

Emily Przybysz's one-out single, followed by a stolen base put the tying run in scoring position but a flyout and a strikeout ended the Saints' scoring threat.

MOL scored twice in the first after a single up the middle was followed by an RBI groundout that plated an unearned run, 2-0.

Hannah Bardeen began the bottom of the frame with a hit by pitch, scoring later Booth's RBI double down the right field line, MOL 2-1.

Goderis blooped one into right field with 2-outs, scoring Booth to knot the game at 2-2.

Bush followed with an RBI single up the middle, 3-2 DYU.

A wild pitch and RBI groundout to short helped MOL get two runs back in the second, 4-3 Lions.

A sacrifice bunt moved the Saints' runners to second and third before Booth's sacrifice fly to left scored Bower to tie things back up at 4-4.

A cue shot down the first base line was thrown away with two outs in the fourth as the Lions' run came around to score from second, unearned, 5-4.

DYU loaded the bases with no outs and Bush's sacrifice fly to right once again made it a tie game, 5-5.

The Saints almost worked around a leadoff double in the sixth after a line drive double play but the first pitch to the next Lions' hitter was laced down the left field line as MOL took a slim 6-5 advantage.

Looking to add some insurance in the seventh, MOL doubled and singled to put runners on the corners to start the inning.

A throwing error gave the Lions' some cushion, 7-5, before an RBI groundout to second added one more before a 2-RBI single gave MOL a 10-5 edge which was all it needed to take game two 10-5.

D'Youville will wait to see if they earn a bid to the USCAA World Series, taking place in DuBois, Pa. From May 14th-18th. The top 10 teams are invited to DuBois, Pa., and the Saints are currently tied for T-7 in the latest poll with the bids being announced on Sunday, May 14th.
