Box Score 2 DOBBS FERRY, NY – The D'Youville University softball team ran into the hot bats of the Mercy College Mavericks in game one as they jumped out to a 7-0 lead after two innings of play on their way to winning 9-4.
Sarah Parzych earned the complete game victory for the second straight day as Gianna Adamo's 3-run home run put DYU ahead for good on its way to a 9-2 game two win.
Game One: MER 9, DYU 4
- With 2-outs and runners on first and second in the first a double to left put MER ahead 2-0 early.
- The next MER batter followed with a single to right center to make it 3-0 MER after one inning of play.
- Five straight hits to start the second plated two more for MER before a DYU pitching change, 5-0.
- Two batters later, a 2-RBI single to center extended the margin to seven.
- Hannah Bardeen got the Saints on the board in the third with a lead-off home run to center but the Mavericks got it right back in the bottom of the inning with a 2-out RBI double down the right field line, MER 8-1.
- DYU answered in the fourth as a pair of walks followed by a Tatiana Boyd single loaded the bases with no outs, forcing Mer to make a pitching change of their own.
- Pinch hitter Ava Miller stepped in next and ripped a 2-RBI single to left center to trim the margin to 8-3.
- MER added another insurance run in the sixth before DYU scratched one more run across via an RBI groundout in the seventh to fall 9-4.

Game Two: DYU 9, MER 2
- This time DYU struck first as a leadoff hit by pitch of Bardeen proved costly as a sacrifice bunt followed by an Adamo RBI single to right center put the Saints up 1-0.
- MER responded right away as a lead-off double in the bottom of the frame scored on a single to center before a 2-out RBI single to right gave MER a 2-1 edge after one inning of play.
- Bardeen and Laura Beck got things started for DYU in the third with a single and double respectively while Adamo brought them home with a three-run shot to right center, 4-2 DYU.
- Miller's two-out pinch-hit single in the sixth set up Bardeen for an RBI double to left, DYU 5-2 heading to the seventh.
- Boyd added some breathing room in the seventh with her first career home run, a three-run jack to left center, as the Saints earned the split, 9-2.
