Box Score 2 BUFFALO, NY – The D'Youville University softball team used a pair of complete game pitching performances to sweep the College of Staten Island Dolphins, 9-3 and 4-3, on Friday afternoon.
Game One: DYU 9, CSI 3
- A pair of singles and a walk set the table for DYU in the first, but CSI almost got out of the inning unscathed before a Mikayla Bush RBI single to center plated Laura Beck.
- Olivia Goderis stepped in next and ripped a bases-clearing 3-RBI double to left center to put the Saints ahead early 4-0.
- Ally Beardi brought Goderis home on a single to center as DYU scored five, 2-out runs in the opening inning.
- CSI got one back in the second after a 2-out walk and RBI double, DYU 5-1.
- The Saints answered quickly as Gianna Adamo's triple to center brought Hannah Bardeen and Beck home to make it 7-1 DYU.
- Booth helped her own cause with an RBI single to left to chase the Dolphins starting pitcher, 8-1 Saints after two.
- A single, walk and hit batter to begin the top of the third helped CSI score a pair but she retired the next three hitters to leave the bases loaded after 2 ½, 8-3 Saints.
- Beck led off the sixth with a triple to left field before being driven in by Booth two-batters later, DYU 9-3.
- Booth worked around a 2-out walk in the seventh to earn her third win of the season.

Game Two: DYU 4, CSI 3
- Back-to-back doubles to begin the game put CSI up 1-0.
- Consecutive singles later in the inning plated two more but a line drive double play limited the damage to just three.
- Bush and Goderis lead off the second with a pair of singles before a walk loaded the bases with one out.
- Bardeen got the Saints on the board with a sacrifice fly to right field, CSI 3-1.
- Beck followed with an RBI single to left before Adamo's single to right center scored two to give DYU a 4-3 advantage after two.
- Sarah Parzych settled in after a rocky first inning as she retired 14 of the next 15 CSI hitters before a 2-out double in the sixth, which was left stranded.
- The Dolphins again got the tying run aboard with a 1-out single in the seventh, but a strikeout and groundout ended the game as the Saints split the season series 2-2.
