Box Score 2 FLUSHING, NY – The D'Youville University softball team put up three in the eighth to win game one before they were walked off in game two to split its' opening East Coast Conference doubleheader with Queens College on Sunday afternoon.
GAME 1 – DYU 5, QC 2 F/8
- QC used a safety squeeze in the second and a double in the third to take a 2-0 lead
- After a one-out walk by Hannah Bardeen, Lauren Booth launched a 2-run shot to left to knot the game at 2-2
- Jamie Bower led off the eighth with a single but the next two DYU hitters were retired
- Bardeen would get hit by a pitch to set the table for Booth as she clocked her second home run of the day, a 3-run shot to left, to put DYU ahead 5-2
- Sarah Parzych sat down QC in order in the bottom half of the frame to secure the Saints 5-2 win

Game 2: QC 9, DYU 8
- Bardeen's RBI single brought Gianna Adamo home for a 1-0 lead in the first before Adamo's bases loaded walk put DYU ahead 2-0 after the top of the second
- QC used three doubles in the bottom of the inning to score four and take a 4-2 advantage
- After an Adamo single and a Laura Beck walk, Bardeen hit her fifth jack of the year to put DYU back on top 5-4
- QC answered with a 2-run blast of their own and an RBI groundout to retake the lead, 7-5
- Bower and Beck's singles in the fifth knotted the game back at 7-7 before Bryanna Dewey's RBI fielder's choice in the sixth gave DYU an 8-7 advantage
- QC's two-out single up the middle retied the score heading to the seventh
- After DYU went down in order in the seventh, the first two QC batters were retired
- An infield single to second, followed by a stolen base set the stage for a walk-off single to left field as QC prevailed 9-8 in the back-and-forth game
