Box Score 2 BUFFALO, NY. – The D'Youville University softball team got a strong starting pitching performance from Lauren Booth in game one while also taking advantage of some Le Moyne College Dolphins miscues on the way to a 5-2 win.
The Dolphins' bats awoke in game two as they hung seven runs in the first three innings on the way to a 11-0 run rule after five innings.
GAME 1 – DYU 5, LC 2
- DYU plated two in the first due to a Mikayla Bush bases loaded walk followed by a Dolphins infield error, DYU 2-0
- With Hannah Bardeen on second and 1-out in the third, Bush's comebacker to the pitcher was airmailed over the first basemen to make it 3-0 DYU
- Olivia Goderis stepped in next and ripped a single past the diving Dolphins' second basemen to push the margin to four
- Bardeen's 1-out triple to deep left in the sixth scored pinch runner Kate Cornborough after Booth's double to add an insurance run heading to the seventh, DYU 5-0
- LC loaded the bases to begin the inning with a walk and back-to-back singles, capitalizing on a DYU throwing error to score two, but Cassie Crerar limited the damage by retiring the next three hitters

Game 2: LC 11, DYU 0 F/5
- Two first inning doubles brought home one for the Dolphins before a single to left was followed by a throwing error to plate another, LC 2-0
- In the second, runners on second and third with 1-out were cashed in by LC via a single to the outfield to double the margin to 4-0
- LC added three unearned runs in the third before tacking on four more in the fifth to seal the 11-0 victory

- The Dolphins' ace threw five innings of 2-hit ball
- Le Moyne knocked out 12 hits while DYU committed four errors
The Saints head to Franklin Pierce on Thursday for a non-conference doubleheader before traveling to NYC to begin ECC play this weekend against Staten Island and Queens.
